The Fasanta Design Award was created for the launch of the first Fasanta Festival in 2013.
The initial Fasanta Design Award was created for Undergraduate Fashion/ Textile students. The design students were given a brief to create a piece which was up-cycled, eco and inspired by the Dalriada Tartan.
The Fasanta Design Award was presented to Ting Ting, a Design student from Edinburgh School of Art, who presented the fabulous Dalriada Coat design inspired by her Chinese Heritage which can be seen below.
The Dalriada Coat was then produced by Dunollie's Tartan Brand Manager Breege Smyth and showcased at the Community Catwalk event in 2014.
In 2015, the Fasanta Design Award opened up to all textile enthusiasts to create a textile inspired by the history and romance of the Brooch Of Lorn.
The winner of the Fasanta Design Award 2015 was awarded to Jennifer Shaw.
